Focused work

Circle & yoga

Group circle time and gentle yoga strengthen listening, body awareness, and calm.

Creative arts

Teacher-directed art projects build fine-motor skills and a love of self-expression.

Why it matters

A gentle bridge into preschool.

Around age three, children develop longer attention spans, more language, and a growing desire to be part of a group. Our Transitional Preschool meets them right there, with a shorter 90-minute work cycle that builds concentration without asking too much too soon.

Alongside individual Montessori work, children enjoy group circle time, yoga, and teacher-directed art. This balance of independence and community helps them gain the focus, social skills, and self-confidence they'll carry into the Primary classroom.

In the classroom

What your child will learn.

Practical life

Food prep, care of plants, buttoning, and tidying build independence and the ability to follow multi-step tasks.

Sensorial

Materials like the pink tower and color tablets sharpen observation and sorting by size, color, and shape.

Early language

Rhyming, sound games, and sandpaper letters introduce the sounds that lead to reading.

Early math

Counting, number rods, and one-to-one correspondence build a hands-on understanding of quantity.

Art & music

Teacher-directed art, songs, and movement encourage creativity and fine-motor control.

Social skills

Circle time and group activities teach listening, turn-taking, and expressing feelings with words.
