What ages does Montessori Children's School accept?+

We serve children from 18 months through 5 years, with an after-school and summer program for children up to age 6. Children are grouped into classes by age.

Where are you located?+

We're inside the La Sierra Community Center at 5325 Engle Rd, Room 170, Carmichael, CA 95608, in the greater Sacramento area.

What are your hours?+

We're open Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

What schedule options do you offer?+

We offer 2, 3, and 5-day options with part-time, full-time, and extended-hour schedules: part time (8:30 AM–12:30 PM), full time (8:30 AM–3:00 PM), and extended hours (7:00 AM–5:30 PM).

Is Montessori Children's School licensed?+

Yes. We're a member of the American Montessori Society and licensed by the California Department of Social Services (Lic. #343622735).

What is the Montessori method?+

Developed in the 1800s by doctor and educator Maria Montessori, the Montessori method focuses on children's learning and development through exploration and self-teaching, guided by teachers in a carefully prepared environment so children progress at their own pace.

Will my child be prepared for kindergarten?+

Our school-readiness program prepares children socially and academically for formal schooling, including a homework program for Pre-K children that builds the home/school connection.

When does the school year run?+

Our program runs from mid-August through May, with an optional summer program between regular terms.
