The Primary classroom brings together children ages 4 to 6 in a mixed-age community. Younger children learn by watching older classmates, and older children reinforce their own learning by helping others. This is a hallmark of Montessori education.
With a longer 2½ to 3 hour work cycle, children have time to concentrate deeply, repeat activities until they master them, and move from concrete materials toward abstract thinking in math, language, and more. They leave ready for kindergarten with strong skills and a love of learning.
